Hi guys!
Only when we get to the end of the year do we remember we´d better rush and see the most important information from the two units remaining in our textbook!!!
Today, we first revised animal vocabulary on the screen, and then began to tackle cleft sentences, noun compounds-possessive forms and so & such.
They all belong to different pages , and we sas everything except the last part.
We first used a sort of GUIDELINE (CLICK & PRINT IT) so as to test the new grammar items previously.
We also listened to exercise 2a (page 93) and then did CLEFT SENTENCES as well as exercises a & b on page 153. Then, you tried out your "own" cleft sentences by doing exercise 3c (on page 93 again)
And right after that, NOUNS: COMPOUND AND POSSESSIVE FORMS . Having only a few minutes left before the end of the class, we decided to do only exercise a on page 154. And there we left it !
Please, do exercises on photocopies 13 & 14. Don´t forget to do exercise c on page 154 in your books ( ANSWER KEY HERE). You might also want to check your answers for PREPARING FOOD, p. 167 (our last vocabulary bank for which there´s practically no time).
Enjoy your weekend people! See you next week!

Toby gave you animal debates for you to debate and play the devil´s advocate. He also suggested using the following common adverb collocations (CLICK HERE TO SEE).
And that was all !
Three more classes ahead! See you all on Thursday!

Here are some of the most recurrent mistakes (please, see how they can be fixed!)
Then, Toby came in the class and he asked you about the exam: its parts, marks, what you found more difficult, the easiest, etc. He also gave you this DICTATION, which proved not to be a harsh one :-)
On Thursday (tomorrow!) we´ll go back briefly to the exams and then we´ll have to move with our lessons, guys!

Then we moved on to exercise 3c (we skipped 3b because of the length of the activity) . And finally , we had time to quickly do exercise 4a on page 38 and read about WAYS TO SHOW SPECULATION AND DEDUCTION. And there we stopped!

See you all on Thursday!
Emiliano
Today we resumed our lessons and began working on pages 32 and 32 - Writing an article - We first took turns to read out the text about children´s lives now and then, and also gave it a title (exercise b). After that we skipped some of the questions in exercise c and did only questions 1 and 4. We finished this part by doing exercises d and e about enriching our vocabulary when writing.
Please remember to choose ONE of the topics present in exercise a (page 33) and hand it in on Tuesday next week the latest : some 250 words will do this time...
Right before Toby´s time (he is back in Spain, I thought he was still in the UK !) , I just had time to hand out this WORKSHEET ON SOUNDS and find out which you already knew - whistle, splash... Please, bring to our Thursday class or else download + print it.
Finallly, Toby gave you a genuine reading & speaking ( and somewhat difficult ) task : Sort it out! Two news stories. There are many copies still available in the classroom if you to get a copy !
See you all on Thursday!
